**edited to add: all teachers are following the guidelines of the administration and health department. I am not upset AT ALL with them. I am UPSET with the rules the Health Department has ordered. Also to add: the wauseon schools nurse is like an angel. She assessed him and called me right away.**
About to raise some hell. So, need a little help gathering info....
This morning, I get a call from the school stating “Braylon was in gym class and tripped over somebody and is just really disoriented and not processing his thoughts well. He says he didn’t hit his head, so I’m not real sure what’s going on, but he’s super dizzy and nauseous, and just doesn’t feel very good.” He was so bad, the nurse didn’t want to leave his side.
So, I go straight to the school to pick up my son.
He’s acting INCREDIBLY STRANGE. I wish I could have videotaped him 
He couldn’t even hardly walk in a straight line!!! He was looking past me when I was speaking to him. He’s dizzy. He for sure can’t process his thoughts at the time I pick him up. Acting completely disoriented. Of course I get him to the vehicle and assess him trying not to go straight to administration and FREAK THE FLIP OUT!!!! Because I HAVE NEVER had any of my children act like this.
As I’m driving home, he’s coming back to me verrrry slow. Enough to tell me a little bit - mumbling the whole time and nearly falling asleep. I start asking him exactly what happened in gym class.
They lined up WITH their mask on of course. They then go OUTSIDE to the OUTDOOR track!!!!! The OUTDOOR TRACK YALL!!! And proceed to run a mile OUTSIDE ——> with a MASK ON!!!!! The entire time. He then says, then a kid was on the ground and “I tripped on him and fell into another kid and I felt really dizzy and i don’t know...”
He went back to class where his teacher had him lay on the ground because she too was noticing disorientation. She sent him to the school nurse with a note: “Super dizzy. A bit mumbly. Hard to understand. Had him lay on the ground in class for 5 minutes - no improvement”.
It was confirmed he did not hit his head. Also is confirmed he felt 100% fine this morning. Felt great before gym. And felt absolutely terrible after gym.
So, I need to know:
*What is Archbold doing?
*What is Pettisville doing?
*Stryker?
*Napoleon?
*Defiance?
Any other school - I need to know if your kids are being made to wear masks 24/7 - with recess and gym class included.
I’ve called the health department already. They gave me insight about the rules. Knowing that they do NOT have to wear a mask during gym or recess if social distancing is maintained.
I have another health department head called and left voicemail and hopefully she will call me back. About ready to call my lawyer and see what rights we have as parents.
This scared me. I have never witnessed Braylon like this. He acted like he had a severe concussion. Only 25% improvement before getting him home. Just enough for him to slowly tell me the story. He’s sleeping now and I’m just watching him like a hawk. So meanwhile while answering what your schools are doing, say a little prayer for my little man! And me - that God will grant me patience and a little less attitude when dealing with these phone calls.
